Thursdays with Kristy

Wow, sorry its been forever since I've updated anything. I'm going to try to update at least once a week. This just takes too much time for me to update very often.

I'm thankful for.....all this great weather we've been having. We have seriously gotten all our garden areas prepped already for the year thanks to the awesome neighbors. Our field peas are planted and the garlic is up over 4 inches already. And many flowers are blooming. I'm so excited for this spring. We will be welcoming many more additions to the farm this spring. Three of our does are pregnant so we should have 6 kids born, the kids are going to love that. We're probably also going to be buying another Saneen doe so that we'll have two milkers. Our goal is to eventually be dairy independent. We're also going to be getting some more layers and meat birds, rabbits and hopefully some pigs. I see a lot of fun work in my future! I love my work.

I'm listening to.....nothing and its great!

What's for dinner tonight.....Caramelized winter squash and onion pizza with salad. It's the last winter squash from the garden last year and it's seriously one of the best pizzas.

What I'm looking forward to.....getting a cream separator, butter churn and cheese press. I'm so excited to make all these healthy dairy items for the family.

What's happening this week.....getting the playroom painted, building a sandbox for the kids and fencing the backyard. Bible study, story time at the library, and MOPS.

I am missing.....my family. None of my sisters live here anymore and I miss them. Holly is going to be having another surgery to shrink some the mass. They've shrunk it by 70% so far after 3 surgeries. The next one she is going to be awake for so she can tell them if she starts to lose her vision. After that one they are going to drill and remove what's left. Please continue to keep her in your prayers.

wow what a busy bee you've been. We are making a sandbox in the next couple of weeks also. I wish we had room for a goat. The home owners association pretty much frowns on barn animals. =) And jeremy did threatened to eat it once it got fat. hee hee...Can't wait to see pictures of all your bounty.
