Good-Bye Busby

I don't really know where to begin but its been good living here for the last six months. It's really weird because we knew God wanted us to come here but it never felt like home and hasn't come as much of a surprise to us that we are moving.

After Arlen's boss Lance lost his hand they have been talking about selling and probably will be as soon as they can. Arlen was offered several jobs after the rumors started flying about the possible sell of the dairy, I guess word got around that he's a hard worker.

When we moved here we only signed a six month lease, not knowing if we'd like this house or location. Our landlords would like to sell and the house is on the market and has been shown once so far.

Since I'm due in August, the landlords want to sell, and Lance and Denise will probably sell the dairy, Arlen decided to take one of the jobs he was offered. Taking this job means we are moving again on Monday to a ranch outside of Coronation, four hours from Busby, which happens to be Arlen's birthday. Theya's 5th birthday is on Tuesday and Kalen and Gannon turn 3 on Wednesday.

We have been blessed to join the Biggs Family on TK Ranch. We will be living and working on the ranch, mostly in charge of raising heritage breed pastured pigs. The ranch is huge and there are 10 miles between our house and the Biggs' house yet they are on the same ranch. That's like driving from Lynden to Bellingham! If you'd like to know more about the ranch and what we'll be doing check it out at http://www.tkranch.com/.

It was been a long week and next week will be too. I dropped Arlen off at the ranch on Saturday and he has been working on our house along with lots of wonderful volunteers to get the house ready for us to move into. They remodeled the kitchen, painted the entire house, built a huge deck and fenced the yard. He comes home tomorrow night to load up all our stuff. My parents arrive tomorrow as well as Arlen's parents. Nothing brings family together like moving! The kids are going home with Arlen's parents until Thursday so my parents and us can get things somewhat ready for the kids to arrive at the ranch on Thursday. Since it's every one's birthdays this week we are going to try to have cake and ice cream for everyone when they arrive and give the kids their birthday presents.

It's been good to live outside Busby even though its been so short and we've been blessed with wonderful people in our lives here and we will miss them.

This is a snowmobile crossing sign as you turn onto the highway to head to Busby and then our house. We saw so many snowmobiles this winter. I know Monte will enjoy this picture.Only 150 people live in Busby and its been fun to call this home for the last six months.

This is the only store in Busby, the "Busy Bee". This is where we get our mail and pick up a gallon of milk if we need it.
