Sorry that I haven't posted anything for awhile. It has been really cold here and our computer is in our unfinished addition. It's the only place that's safe from the boys. It's freezing out here and you have to bundle up. I don't know how long I can type before my fingers start to freeze.
My step dad Monte had surgery last Friday on his ankle. I saw him last Sunday and he looked good, considering. Please pray for a complete and quick recovery.
My sister Holly is going to have her first brain surgery tomorrow. She has to be there at 6:00 am. She has a cerebral arteriovenous malformation. Also known as AVM. She was likely born with this but they aren't sure. It may have developed over time. It is very rare and hasn't been studied that much. Holly has agreed to allow them to take some brain tissue and learn what they can from her to hopefully help others in the future. They also found another one on the other side of her head. She really is 'special'. It is smaller and they are going to worry about it after they remove the big one.
They are going to be going in her groin tomorrow and releasing basically super glue to start shrinking it. They are only going to be shrinking it by about 30% each time. If they shrink it to quickly it can cause permanent damage. Right now they estimate it will take about three surgeries to shrink it. Then they will either do radiation or drill to remove whats left, depending on what they think is best at the time. The surgery will be be 2-3 hours and the recovery will be about 6 hours. She will be in ICU for one day and they transferred to a regular room for another day. If all is going well she will be able to go home until the next surgery. They think the next surgery will only be within a couple of weeks.
Wow, my hands are freezing. Please pray for her and the doctors tomorrow. It is going to be a big day!

praying! Thanks!
Thanks for the updates Kristy. I'm so sorry about Zoe. That's really rough. I'll be praying for Holly today and the days to follow.

Wow, I read into it and it sounds like she could be on one of the episodes of House. What a mystery, glad she is still with us after reading about it! Its always comforting to have a diagnosis and a plan. :-)
