We started the morning by letting the kids open their stockings.

The kids got some toys, play dough, new toothpaste and brushes and one of the neatest things they all got were wind-up LED flashlights. The kids love to play hide and go seek in the dark and we are always going through so many batteries. This way when the flashlights run down they can just wind them up.

Here's Kalen with his flashlight. He got a silver one, Gannon got a red one and Theya's is purple.

Then we let them open a present that was for all of them. One of the nice things about having all the kids so close in age is that they are into a lot of the same toys.

They got foam blocks. If they throw them it doesn't hurt the walls or each other.

Breakfast time! Its sort of a tradition that we always have cinnamon rolls from the can. Its a quick and easy thing to make in the morning. This year I made them a shape of a Christmas tree and colored the icing green. Then I put green sprinkles on and cherries. I think this will be our new tradition.

Don't worry we also had plenty of fresh fruit with it. The kids enjoyed it!

After breakfast we sat down and read the Christmas Story from the Message Bible. Then the kids opened presents from Arlen's Grandma. Theya got a 3-D puzzle and the boys got Thomas trains that actually go. The boys love them and played with them most of the day.

Then it was time to open some presents from us. Theya got a new bed for her babies and a doctor set. The boys got metal Tonka trucks that will be going outside when the snow melts.

Then Theya got a cleaning set. She loves to help clean so now she has her own broom, swiffer and mop. One of her chores is to sweep under the table after lunch and she does a really good job.

The boys got a really need wooden farm play set. Daddy is helping them set it up. It even has a green house with tomato plants in it!

Last present. They got two small duplo sets to share. One of them is even a chicken coop complete with a chicken and eggs. Can you tell we all miss our animals and garden.

Daddy's turn. The kids and I were all sick so we didn't get a chance to get Daddy a present until two days before. Before we went to town Theya sat at the table and made a list of things to get for Daddy.

Arlen got new wool socks, gloves, glove liners and beef jerky. I don't have anymore pictures because I took a video instead. The kids were so excited for Daddy to open this because they went to town, picked the things out and then wrapped it.

Now its my turn.

I got a new pair of Pj's and slippers. Very nice and needed in this cold.

Kalen showing the ornament that he got. Every year the kids get a Christmas ornament in their stockings. That way when they leave home someday they'll have something to decorate their own trees with.

Time for Christmas Dinner. We had scalloped potatoes, sweet potatoes, fruit salad and ham. It was the best ham we've ever had. I'm so thankful we were able to take our pig across the border in the freezer. We honey glazed the ham and had whole cloves in it. It was delicious!
After dinner we opened our crackers and had fun with the paper crowns and little toys.
We had a wonderful Christmas and are so thankful to God for providing our family with this job even if it meant moving. We are so blessed and thankful that we were able to buy presents and food. Had we stayed we would not have enjoyed those things. Thank you God for your provision and many blessings.

So glad that you guys had a good Christmas Kristy!! You're the first people I've found who do the oranament gift every year:) I've done that with our kids since they were born, but have never heard of anyone else who does it. Our kids love finding their ornaments every year & putting them on the tree:)
