Kalen and Gannon were 4 months old on Wednesday. Mom helped me take them to the doctor today for their check-up. Gannon now weighs 15 lbs. 15 1/2 oz., so just shy of 16 lbs. He's still in the 90th percentile for height. Kalen is 12 lbs. and still in the 20th percentile for height. They are following their own growth curves and doing very well. They are just very different boys and I have to remember not to compare them. They're just two brothers that happen to be born at the same time. The doctor and I discussed starting solids with the boys and we are going to start this weekend. I'm still having to feed them every 2 to 2 1/2 hours and they should be going longer than that between feedings. I'm just not able to keep up with all their demands any longer. I still plan to breastfeed for a year. But it looks like we need to start supplementing with formula or goat's milk and begin to introduce solids. I'm sad in a way because it means they're not my little babies anymore. Granted it was extremely difficult in the beginning and we had to have lots of help, but they were so sweet and tiny. They're still very sweet but just getting so big. Gannon is already rolling all over the room and getting up on his hands and knees!
