A good busy day!

We started the day by clearing a big section of blackberries between the house and the creek. Now we'll be able to get down to the water this summer to enjoy it. It's so peaceful by the water. Isn't this so peaceful looking? I'm hoping to get some sort of swing or hammock down there for the summer. This is looking up from the creek to the swing set. You can see our big pile of blackberries that needed burned. We uncovered an old hollow stump under all the blackberries so I thought it would be neat to plant some flowers in it. This was part of my Mother's Day present. They are going to be red, white and blue trailing flowers.

I also cleaned all these table and chairs today that we found in the barn. We also found an umbrella that was brand new still in the packaging. It's kinda ugly but it works and will be nice for the summer.
The kids having fun on the swing while they wait for me to light a fire to roast hot dogs.I also got these Gerber daisies for Mother's day to plant in this tub we also found in the barn.

Our neighbor Paul came and plowed our garden today with is tractor, thank you Paul! Arlen's got the corn, oats, alfalfa and clover planted today. We're trying to grow all our own feed for our goats and chickens.
Last weekend Arlen finished putting up all the fencing for the goats. We just need to wait for the new pasture we planted to come up before we can let then in the newly fenced area.

The kids had so much fun roasting our first hot dogs of the year. Theya's being silly and making the boys laugh, too cute!
