It's Finally Spring!!!

The very last little bit of snow. I took this picture on May 1st. The kids are practicing their scissor skills again and making raindrops and flowers.

They all made a raindrop and you can tell which one is Kalen's. He doesn't have as long of an attention span yet so his doesn't have much blue paper glued on it. Theya made the pink flower and Gannon made the yellow one.

Theya learned how to mix colors to make other colors. We only have red, yellow and blue paint so she learned how to make orange, green and purple.

Theya then made a picture with her newly mixed paint colors. She painted a cloud and birds in the sky. Grass, flowers, a rainbow, our family and even a unicorn.

We also painted flowers using our forearms and hands. I painted their forearms green and then they pressed them onto the paper to make the stems of the flowers. Then they dipped their hands in red paint to make the flowers.

Theya's painting.

Kalen's painting. He accidently got a few red fingerprints on the stem of one of the flowers and the kids think they look like ladybugs.

Gannon's painting. He hates getting messy and likes to use a napkin at dinner time. He didn't want to get paint on his arm or hands so he used a brush to paint his flowers. On the other hand, Theya and Kalen loved getting to put paint on themselves.

Daffodils we made with egg cartons and paper. Gannon's is missing because he wanted to play with it and it soon got destroyed.

Flowers we made with coffee filters. You let the kids color on two coffee filters with markers. Then you lightly spray them with water from a spray bottle. After they dry you cut one of the filters smaller to become the center of the flower. Then you poke a pipe cleaner through the filters to make a flower. The kids had fun making these and I think they turned out beautifully.

You do so many fun crafts with your kids Kristy! I love how we can see our kids' personalities come out with activities like that:)
