Happy Valentine's Day

This is the couch we bought when we first got married 8 years ago. It's from Ikea and has been a great couch, its very comfy. Three years ago the covers on the seat cushions started to rip so I put patches on them. The patches lasted for awhile but then they started to wear thin and began ripping. I then put a blanket over the seat cushions to cover up the ripped patches. Then Then the cover over the couch started to rip and was so thread bear it wasn't even worth trying to patch it. Because it was so thread bear I was scared to wash it. So I just covered it up with a throw. I made it last as long as I could.
Well last Saturday, Valentines' Day, we decided to drive up to Ikea in B.C. and get a new slip cover for the couch. The slip cover is red corduroy and is beautiful. I've always wanted a red couch. The slip cover was $259 CDN and right when I picked it up in the warehouse a couple told me to go check in the 'as is' section because there was a lot of slipcovers in there. So, I headed over to the 'as is' section and sure enough they had one red slipcover. The only reason it was in the 'as is' section was because the box was damaged during shipping. The slipcover was in perfect condition and was marked $125. So, with the exchange rate we got the slipcover for $102 US! I'm so excited, I love it. I know that's a bit of a long story, but I know it was totally God's gift to us, thank you!

Because we saved so much money and Theya's been asking and asking we decided to take her to McDonald's for dinner. She had a lot of fun playing in the Play Place. She got a new watch in her happy meal. She won't put the watch down while she's opening her Valentine's present.

Theya got a soccer ball! She's really been wanting a soccer ball and we found this soft one that was even red and white for Valentine's Day.

Brothers watching as Theya kicks the new ball.

Kalen and Gannon are too active to sit and open a present.

I don't plan on ever doing this again but they shared their Valentine present this year. They got some new bowls and a really neat book.

Kalen was having fun with the bowls.

Gannon's checking out the new book.
