Preschool

Five weeks ago Theya and I started doing preschool at home. She already knows all her letters, numbers, shapes and colors but this is a fun and structured way to learn and spend time together everyday. I found some free curriculum on the internet and it has been working really well for us.

We have a weekly theme that the week is centered around. We check out books from the library to read about the theme throughout the week. Last week we learned about eyes and the vocabulary work was 'iris'. It's fun because I would never think to teach her things like that and if you ask her what the colored part of your eye is called, she knows.

We put a learning poster up in the living room so we can look at it often and talk about the things we are learning.

The site I got this curriculum from is; http://www.letteroftheweek.com/ and it was a link from this site if you're interested in checking it out as well; http://oldfashionededucation.com/

I just don't see how anyone affords preschool, it's so expensive. This has been a really good, free alternative to sending her to preschool.

That looks great! I agree with the price of preschool and what better place to be than learning along side Daddy and Mommy, our children's God given teachers. We do FIAR for our preschoolers which you can adapt into a all kinds of great things.
